Introduction Intel Core Duo processors integrate two execution cores derived from the Intel Pentium M processor, whose power-efficiency is enabled through significant hardware architecture enhancements in stack management, instruction execution, and branch prediction. Intel Core 2 Duo processors integrate two complete execution cores in one physical package, providing advancements in simultaneous computing for multi-threaded applications and multi-tasking environments. The new hafnium-based 45nm Hi-k silicon process technology doubles transistor density and increases cache size by up to 50 percent. Intel Core 2 Quad processors delivers four complete execution cores within a single processor with up to 12 MB of L2 cache and 1333 MHz front side bus, delivering unprecedented performance and responsiveness in multi-threaded and multi-tasking environments.
