Joined Advantech in 1997
Vice President of Industrial Network and Computing Group
Franz Wei
Vice President of Embedded ePlatform

Franz Wei is the vice president of Advantech's Industrial and Network Computing Group (INCG), which includes four product divisions: Industrial Computing, CompactPCI, Network Security and eVideo divisions. Under his leadership, INCG has shown an impressive growth rate of 25% - 30% for the past years. One third of the company's overall revenue is contributed by INCG group alone, proving its presence in Advantech is not to be overlooked.

Franz graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in mechanical engineering; he then went to Germany to further pursue his studies. Before coming to Advantech, he worked for Sun Rhine Enterprises as an engineer, and when he joined Advantech in 1997, he started as an engineer. His performance surpassed all and in 2005, he was chosen to lead INCG. The fact that he had managed four different product lines made him perfect for the position because he was equipped with in-depth product knowledge and strategic industrial know-how. For example, in 1997, he proposed to invest in PCI-based data acquisition cards, which later became one of Advantech's hottest-selling products. The following year, he was dedicated to developing CompactPCI-based products, which then brought in millions of dollars in revenue. Finally, in 1999 Franz brought in double-digit growth rates for INCG, showing that his persistence, endeavor and vision paid off.

Franz's love and commitment for marathons is well known throughout Advantech. To him, marathons are a way to challenge himself and to test his limits. Franz says, "Human potentials are limitless; so long as you take the challenge, you may find yourself succeeding in things you've never dreamt of!" and like his words, the challenges he has overcome make him the successful multi-dimensional manager that he is now.
